Good Days and Bad Days

Words can’t always describe what happens in a bike race.  You can have a killer day, and you can have a bad day.  It is pretty much as simple as that.

The predictable strategy would be to limit the bad days, and capitalize on the good ones.  Easier said than done.  The joys of stage racing does ensure there are plenty more opportunities to take advantage of good days.  There is always another race, and always another day.

These are the lessons learned.  Taking one day at a time.  Capitalizing on the opportunities when they present themselves, and creating them when they don’t.

Sometimes it is all about merely staring at the wheel in front of you when you are climbing for 15miles in a 50mile breakaway across two mountains.  Sometimes it is attacking when everyone else is hurting.  And sometimes, it is nothing at all.

It is about working.  It is about defending.  It is about doing what you are told, and also taking the initiative.  I like bike racing, just sometimes it is hard to explain.  Take those opportunities, or create them.  It is your world to conquer.

Now, about that…

Bike Racing.
