Looking forward to tomorrow.

I have tried not to complain lately.  I mean, what do I have to complain about?  I am back on my bike, and I am making progress, and I am alive.  In reality, I am very blessed.

A rainy 4 hour ride?  No big deal.  It is part of the job description.  And why should I complain about that?  It was the first time I have worn leg warmers in a long, long, time.

Muscle fatigue?  At least it isn’t a broken bone.  At least the pain I am feeling has to do with gaining fitness and strength.

This has been an interesting time of thought and reflection.  I have come so far, and I still have so much more I want to do.  I am excited for 2011.  Heck, I am excited for tomorrow!  What is tomorrow?  Nothing in particular, but another day to be alive and to be enjoying what God has given us.  Rain or shine, windy or calm, we can take each day as a gift.

On Sunday, I will participating in the Marin Triathlon.  Now, don’t get all excited on me.  I am not going back to my roots.  I am just doing the bike leg, as a part of a relay.  Just the bike.  You won’t even see  me dipping a toe in that water!  It should be fun, but it made me realize how early those triathlons start!  Wait, I remember, I am not complaining.

We had a great ride for the World Bicycle Relief last weekend.  I use the word ride loosely.  With high winds and heavy rain, we opted to eat bagels and drink coffee while talking about Zambia and riding.  It was a perfect Sunday morning.  Then I had to get on my trainer.  No complaints there.

I got to take some pictures with Larry Rosa. He is one of my favorites ever.  I just thought I would share a couple with you.

As I said, I am looking forward to tomorrow.  Not to discount the past, but also looking toward the future.  Always staying focused, calm, and resilient.  Oh yeah, and I am not complaining.
